Steve Marmion

Clare is delighted to have taken on Steve who will be directing EDWARD GANT’S AMAZING FEATS OF LONELINESS for Headlong Theatre next year and has just directed METROPOLIS for Theatre Royal Bath and ONLY THE BRAVE at this year’s Edinburgh Festival, which was nominated for Best New Musical at the Musical Theatre Matters Awards. His other recent theatre includes VINCENT RIVER at 59E59 Theaters in New York as part of the Brits Off Broadway Festival and FAUSTUS for Headlong Theatre.

 

He has directed numerous productions for the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, including SLEEPING BEAUTY, MIRANDA’S MAGIC MIRROR and TINY TALES and for the Theatre Royal, Plymouth, he directed TEAM SPIRIT (and National Theatre), SK8 – A HIP HOP MUSICAL and MULTIPLEX. You may have also seen TEMPEST 2000 (Sherman Theatre, Cardiff) and A DATE TO REMEMBER (Little London Theatre Company at the Soho Theatre). His production of MADAM BUTTERFLY’S CHILD won the Best Overall Production Award in 2004 and MAD MARGARET’S REVENGE won the Best New Play Award in 2005 at the London One Act Theatre Festival.

 

Steve has worked with Rupert Goold as an associate and transferred his production of MACBETH to Broadway and has also directed workshops for the National Theatre, Hampstead Theatre, Royal Court and the Royal Shakespeare Company, with whom he is an Education Associate Practitioner.
