SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, for the Roundabout Theatre, New York for which David was nominated for a Tony Award for Costume Design, and he and Timothy Bird were nominated for a Tony Award for Best Set Design. They also won the Outer Critics Circle Award for ‘Outstanding Set Design (Play or Musical)’ and David was nominated for  ‘Outstanding Costume Design (Play or Musical)’. He and Timothy Bird won the Olivier Award and the Evening Standard Best Design Awards, as well as the Critics Circle Award, for the productions at Wyndhams and the Menier Chocolate Factory.
