Jonathan has recently directed THE WHITE DEVIL at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Forthcoming productions include THE 24 HOUR PLAYS CELEBRITY GALA at The Old Vic and THE DOG IN THE MANGER for Washington D.C's Shakespeare Theatre Company, USA in 2009.
His production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM recently played at the Globe Theatre and you may also recently have seen his productions of SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER for Birmingham Rep and DON GIOVANNI for English Touring Opera.
Other recent work includes HENRY V and MIRANDOLINA (Royal Exchange); NAKAMITSU (Gate Theatre, Notting Hill); GILGAMESH (a National Theatre studio project); NOISES OFF (the Kreeger Theatre, Washington); A NUMBER (Sheffield Crucible Studio and then the Minerva Studio, Chichester); the Royal Shakespeare Company’s THE CANTERBURY TALES, as one of the three directors (West End, Stratford and Washington); Ranjit Bolt’s adaptation of TARTUFFE (no 1 tour/Watermill Theatre and THE COMEDY OF ERRORS (Sheffield Crucible).
You may also have seen the premiere of BIRD CALLS (Sheffield Crucible Studio) and Marivaux’ THE TRIUMPH OF LOVE, Lope de Vega’s THE GENTLEMAN FROM OLMEDO, THE VENETIAN TWINS, Friel’s DANCING AT LUGHNASA (all Watermill Theatre).
He also directed Welsh National Opera’s Max project, SWEETNESS AND BADNESS.
