A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM - as co-director, with the revival currently on UK tour. Nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production for its Sadlers Wells run last year

She also worked with Christopher Gable as drama consultant and acting coach on his
productions of DRACULA, GISELLE, ROMEO AND JULIET and THE HUNCHBACK OF
NOTRE DAME.

She was also the Children’s Rehearsal director on the feature film ANNA AND THE KING starring Jodie Foster and was drama coach for Charlotte Church and then Gary Barlow for their television debut performances on HEARTBEAT for YTV.
Work as a Theatre Director includes
MARTINE at Salisbury Playhouse, TIME AND THE CONWAYS and NOISES OFF in Ohio USA; the London premiere of Barbara Pym’s NO FOND RETURN OF LOVE and a new adaptation of George Orwell’s A CLERGYMAN’S DAUGHTER for her own Theatre Company, Terra Firma, at The Theatre Chipping Norton, Bristol Old Vic and regional tour and BLOODY POETRY for Terra Firma on regional tour; BLUE REMEMBERED HILLS and SERIOUS MONEY at the Man In The Moon Theatre London (the former also on European and UK tour); a private performance of 84 CHARING CROSS ROAD in aid of The Globe Theatre; LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD and PUSS IN BOOTS by Graeme Garden for The Theatre Chipping Norton and ALADDIN for Southwark Playhouse.
Workshops and Work with Students
She has just been working with Audiences Yorkshire and Arts & Business Yorkshire, in conjunction with NBT’s Learning & Access programme and recently directed and devised ‘Deptford Tales’ for the National Youth Theatre. She also works with students in conservatory drama training – both in Theatre and in Ballet. For the Manchester Metropolitan University School of Theatre she directed THREE SISTERS, GREAT EXPECTATIONS, TRAVESTIES and WUTHERING HEIGHTS (which she also adapted); for the NYT she directed a workshop production of BARNABY RUDGE and HAVE YOU SEEN THIS GIRL for the 1997 Edinburgh Festival as well as a two week workshop course. She is also involved with NBT’s Education Department, has taught at the London Contemporary Dance School, and is responsible for the drama work at The Central School of Ballet - both teaching and recruiting other teachers for the short courses each term. For the London Centre for Theatre Studies she directed THE VOYSEY INHERITANCE and she regularly takes classes at the Actor’s Centre – including a recent course on Theatre at War. She has also directed at the East 15 Acting School, Mountview School and the Guildford School of Acting.
As an Actress
Patricia Doyle trained at RADA and before she moved into directing she worked extensively as an actress in Britain and America in theatre, television, film and radio. She was a founding director of GeVa Theatre New York and in the UK has worked with many of the major repertory companies as well as the National Theatre, Royal Court and Royal Shakespeare Company. Directors Patricia has worked with include Alan Ayckbourn, Stephen Barry, Peter Brook, Peter Cheeseman, Robert Chetwyn, Peter Gill, Peter Hall, Christopher Morahan, Harold Pinter and Peter Wood.
