Stephen will be designing the Theatre Royal Haymarket’s new production of WAITING FOR GODOT, starring Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellen, and he also designed the set for DIRTY DANCING, which has current productions on at the Aldwych Theatre, West End and also in Toronto, Utrecht and on a USA tour, and previously Hamburg.

He also designed set & costumes for Stephen Fry’s new version of CINDERELLA for the Old Vic Theatre at Christmas and the costumes for Victoria Wood’s ACORN ANTIQUES, which was recently on UK tour and previously in the West End.

He works regularly for the Royal Shakespeare Company and most recently on MERRY WIVES THE MUSICAL starring Dame Judi Dench, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA (set), JULIUS CAESAR (set), A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM, BELIEVE WHAT YOU WILL, OTHELLO, ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL (set) and THE TAMING OF THE SHREW & THE TAMER TAMED, many of them transferring to the West End and Japan or Washington as well as in Stratford.

You may also have seen ARSENIC AND OLD LACE and BECKET in the West End and A CHORUS LINE at The Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.

He won the Olivier Award for his set (with nomination for costumes) on LES PARENTS TERRIBLES at the National Theatre and was nominated for a Tony Award and Drama Desk award for its run on Broadway. He also won an Olivier award for DESIGN FOR LIVING at the Gielgud and Donmar Warehouse.
